One might wonder, what are the American Bully Breed Standards? You need to be looking for certain standards when picking out your new puppy. It is important to make sure you make all the right choices. When it comes time for you to bring your American Bully puppy to a show, you have to make sure they are show quality and meet all the American Bully Breed Standards.
There are a couple different registries that you can show your American Bully in as long as you received papers from the breeder. We offer UKC and ABKC papers when you purchase an American Bully from our kennel. They both have some similarities and differences with breed standards that they require. I will go over both registries so than you can become familiar with them before you decide to show your dog, purchase an American Bully with just ABKC or just UKC papers, or if you’re lucky you can get both.
ABKC registry has four classifications: pocket, standard, classic, and XL. When it comes to deciding which classification your American bully falls under is based on how tall he/she is, by measuring at the withers. On the ABKC website it lists what is required under each classification and also what is a fault as well. ABKC hasn’t been around that long. You can only register you’re dog as an American Bully. If you do purchase a dog without papers from the breeder you can single register you American Bully with ABKC.
Now with UKC, they are a little more strict with their qualifications. For one if you do not buy your American Bully with papers from the breeder you will not get papers. You cannot single register your dog. Now you can get UKC papers with your dog listed as an American Pitbull terrier or an American Bully.
